Overview

CabinKit ("the App") is a cabin crew service management tool developed by Alex Ellem ("we", "us", "our"). Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is Alex Ellem. You can contact us at support@cabinkit.app for any data-related enquiries.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data on the following legal bases:

• Contract performance — your name, airline details, and app preferences are processed to provide the App's core functionality.
• Legitimate interest — flight lookup data is processed to provide the optional flight information feature.
• Consent — local notifications are only sent with your explicit permission, which you can withdraw at any time.

Data Storage

All data you enter into the App — including your name, airline details, aircraft profiles, drink menus, passenger information, flight logs, documents, and preferences — is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, selected data (profiles, menus, templates, and settings) is synced via Apple's iCloud service to your other devices. Documents are stored locally only. No personal data is transmitted to, or stored on, any external server operated by us.

Third-Party Services

The App offers an optional flight lookup feature powered by Flightradar24 (flightradar24.com). When you use this feature, your flight number (e.g. "QF1") is sent to the Flightradar24 API to retrieve flight information. No personal data, device identifiers, or location data is included in these requests.

This feature is entirely optional — you can enter flight details manually instead. Please refer to Flightradar24's own privacy policy for information on how they handle API requests.

Local Notifications

The App may request permission to send local notifications for crew rest break reminders. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any external service. You can revoke notification permissions at any time through your device's Settings.

Analytics & Tracking

The App does not use any analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking frameworks. No usage data is collected or transmitted.

Subscriptions

The App offers an optional CabinKit Pro subscription managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. Subscription status is verified through Apple's StoreKit framework. Your purchase history is managed by Apple — please refer to Apple's privacy policy for details.

iCloud & Data Transfers

If you enable iCloud, Apple may process your synced data (profiles, menus, templates, settings) on servers located outside the European Economic Area. This transfer is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and data processing agreements. We do not control or have access to your iCloud data. For more information, see Apple's privacy policy.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

• Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — correct any inaccurate data directly within the App.
• Right to erasure — delete your data within the App or by uninstalling it.
• Right to data portability — your data is stored locally on your device and in iCloud under your control.
• Right to restrict processing — you can disable iCloud sync or individual features at any time.
• Right to object — you may stop using optional features (e.g. flight lookup) at any time.
• Right to lodge a complaint — you have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.

Data Retention & Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can delete any data within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App will permanently remove all locally stored data from your device. iCloud-synced data can be managed through your iCloud settings. We do not retain any data on our own servers.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
